If we believe our stylist adequately followed the original instructions given, there may be additional fees for a “re-groom’” appointment. After 24 hours of completion of an appointment, if you wish to have a Store stylist re-groom your pet, there will be additional fees.

In all cases, the maximum liability of  Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming is limited to the re-grooming option offered above and Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming will not be liable for any damages in excess of this maximum liability.

ii. Late arrivals without notice (15 minutes late) risk losing their appointment without notice.

Arriving late will affect the time it takes to groom, and a specific time frame can no longer be guaranteed. If the groomer decides the grooming session will still be possible 15 minutes past the time of the appointment, there will be an additional charge per fifteen minutes. We will only accept pets 10 minutes before the start of your appointment. If your pet is taken early, the Service will not begin until the allotted appointment time.

III. Late Pick-Ups

We have a boarding facility, ask us about this service.

If you pet(s) are not picked up by the end of your appointment, a late pick-up fee of $20 will apply. We provide a 1-hour grace period from the moment we call or text starting your dog is ready for picked up to when you arrive.

Additionally, if your dog is not picked up by closing of the day, an additional $50 kennel fee may also apply.

IV. No-Shows & Cancellations

No-shows and last-minute cancellations are subject to a $25 no-show charge fee (per pet), which may be added to your next ticket. Prepayment for some fees will be required before another appointment is booked.

We understand there may be emergency situations and will work with you, but not on a continued basis. Please be respectful of our time, as we are a by-appointment business, and another client could have taken your appointment if we had known.

NOTE: Clients who are 15 minutes late risk losing their appointment without notice. The Store may refuse clients that have a history of late cancellations and/or no shows. If a payment is declined, the client will be required to clear any outstanding balances before being able to book another appointment.

V. Parasites

If you suspect your pet(s) has fleas or ticks, prompt and thorough action on your pet(s) is needed. A flea infestation can lead to tapeworms and other health problems. If fleas are found during grooming, you will be charged an additional fee to properly treat your pet(s) with a natural product to kill the parasites.

Please Note: The Store will not use pesticide dips or sprays on your pet(s). If ticks are found, we strongly suggest you ask a veterinarian to remove them and have your pet tested for Lyme Disease. Parasites are a health hazard to your pet(s) and humans.

VI. Behavior or special handling fees

In the case that your pet requires extensive time due to behavioral issues or special needs (more than one groomer for performance), a handling fee may be applied. The client will be solely responsible and will indemnify Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming, for all damages caused by the pet’s behavior.

10. GENERAL HEALTH AND STRESS

i. Pets with any underline condition and stress:

Even the healthiest dog can be affected by stress. Just the mere fact that your pet is being groomed or handled by a stranger can cause enough stress to complicate underlying problems like heart disease, arthritis, dysplasia, diabetes, bloat, infections, or other medical problems. Most of the Services we perform involve some level of stress, very little of which can be completely alleviated. If your pet has health problems or shows extreme anxiety, a professional salon may not be the right environment for your pet.

The salon offers an Express Groom to minimize waiting and kennel time. If you fail to disclose information about any allergies and/or skin conditions, the Store, will not be held responsible for any irritation, patchiness, abrasions, or hair loss that may arise due to the grooming process. If you fail to disclose information regarding any physical and/or medical conditions (such as elbow or his dysplasia, epilepsy, etc.), the Store will not be held responsible for any injury incurred during the grooming process.

11. ABANDONMENT

For your pet's health, it is important that you or your agent pick your pet up at your scheduled time. If you fail to pick up your pet at the conclusion of the Services, we will try to contact you and your agent by telephone. Because the salon not equipped for overnight boarding, the Store reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to consider the pet abandoned if left overnight. You agree that the Store may, in its sole discretion, place the pet in foster care, transfer care to animal control or other law enforcement agencies, or arrange for other alternative care. You understand that you may lose ownership of your pet and that the animal may be adopted or, in rare circumstances, euthanized. You agree to reimburse the Store for all costs and expenses associated with such actions. Additionally, you may have to pay a fee to such entity to get your animal back if s/he is still available. Even if you abandon your pet, you will remain liable to the Store for all unpaid charges.

12. CUSTODY DISPUTES

State laws govern the ownership of pets. We will treat the person who brings an animal in for Services as either the owner or the owner’s agent. Generally, anyone authorized as an owner or an agent will be allowed to authorize charges and pick up of a pet. If we become aware of a custody dispute, we will exercise reasonable judgment based on the facts as we know them. In our sole discretion, we may require proof of ownership, a written property settlement agreement, or a court decree before providing a Service or returning a pet to you or your agent. We also reserve the right to turn the matter over to animal control, to the police, or to a government entity to allow them to resolve the dispute safely.

13. VISUAL RELEASE AND USE

All images, photos, and videos of the pet(s), taken during the stay in-store or during grooming, as well as their names, can be used by Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming in any form or format, for use, at any time, in any media, marketing, advertising, illustration, trade or promotional materials, and are the property of the Store and/or the Franchisor.

14. DATA COLLECTED THROUGH FORMS; INCIDEDENTS

The Store generally will retain only the necessary information to complete a grooming appointment. You understand and consent to the use of your information for consumer marketing purposes we may conduct. In addition, if your pet is suspected of having injured another person or animal, or you or your pet are involved in or witness an incident in our store, we reserve the right to give your name and contact information to animal control, to a treating physician or veterinarian, to the police, to health officials and other government agents, to insurance agents, or to others reasonably requesting the information with a need to know.

15. RELEASE

Except for the limited warranty obligations of the Store described above, you release and agree to hold harmless the store and Grooming and their respective affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, subcontractors and agents (collectively, the “Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming Parties”) from and against any and all damages, expenses, claims and other liabilities, including damages and claims arising out of or relating to the Services provided or your or your pet(s) interaction in connection with the Store, that you may now have, hereafter have or claim to have against any of the Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming Parties.

You acknowledge and agree, by clicking the “Accept” button below, that all the information you provided in this Agreement is accurate and complete, to the absolute best of your knowledge and that you have read, understand and accepted the terms stated above. You further acknowledge ownership of or accepting guardianship and thereby consenting to financial responsibility for the pet for which Services will be provided.

I have read all of the information on this document concerning liability and payment requirements and agree and comply

Royal Pet Safety Warnings & Emergencies

Safety Warmings

We want to make our stores safe for our pet parents, their employees, and pets. This means:

i. Contagious Diseases, Aggressive or Dangerous Pets

Animals bite: regretfully, many of our associates are in the bite zone while performing the Services. Owners MUST inform the Store if their pet(s) bites, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other pets, or specific grooming procedures. If we feel it is necessary to do so for the safety of your pet, other pets, or our associates, we may use a muzzle on your pet or refuse/discontinue the Services. Muzzling will not harm your pet and protects both the pet and the groomer. Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming reserves the right to refuse/stop Services for such pet(s) at any time before or during the grooming process. The client understands that they will be held liable for all bites/injuries caused by their pet.

ii. Interaction with other dogs

While your pet is with us, s/he will come into contact with other pets (i.e., passing them in the walkways). While we do what we can to ensure that pets in our care interact safely, preventing every interaction is impossible. You are responsible for any harm your pet causes to another person, animal or property, and you will look to the owner of the other pet, rather than Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming, for any injury or damage done to you, your family, your pet(s) or your property.

Emergencies

i. Veterinarian Authorization-Medical EmergenciesIn the best interest of your pet(s), this agreement will give to Royal Pey Bakery and Grooming permission to obtain immediate veterinary treatment for your pet should it be deemed necessary by the Store. We will do our best to contact you first, and then take your pet to the nearest available veterinarian. You agree to cover all expenses for such veterinary care upon signing this Agreement. ii. Natural disasterEvery effort will be made to contact you or your agent to retrieve your pet in an emergency or natural disaster. The Store, at its sole discretion, is authorized to transport and/or to make temporary alternative arrangements to house and care for your pet until you or your agent can retrieve it. You understand it may not always be possible to evacuate your pet safely and that, while our associates are dedicated to the animals in their care, human safety must come first in a truly critical situation. That could mean in rare circumstances, that your pet must be left behind until an evacuation, if possible, can be safely accomplished.

Royal Pet Senior Dog

Senior pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury (including risk of death) and will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort in a manner that will not add to their stress. Royal Pet Bakery nad Grooming may determine in its professional opinion (keeping the best for your pet ) that the only available option is to stop or modify the Services for the safety and well-being of your pet. If your pet needs veterinary care while in the care of the Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming, we will make a reasonable attempt to contact you. If Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming is unable to contact you or if the nature of the pet’s status does not allow time to contact you,  Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming may immediately obtain veterinary care for the pet, at your expense.

By signing this release, you acknowledge that you fully understand the risks of grooming a senior dog and are allowing  Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming  to perform the service, while releasing Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming  from any injury, loss, liability, claims, damages and/or otherwise which may arise directly or indirectly as a result of the service, and any and all medical problems and/or other conditions that may be uncovered and/or occur during and/or as a result of the service.

Royal Pet Shaving

I understand that Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming does NOT recommend shave downs (below #10 blade unless stated below) except when medically necessary, at the owner's request, or when the pet is so severely matted that, in our professional opinion, the matts cannot be combed or brushed out without causing the pet unnecessary discomfort and distress. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and windburn, and special precautions should be taken, like having sunscreen applied daily or keeping the sun out until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. Shaving the hair of double-coated breeds could result in clipper alopecia, hair not growing back, and/or a change of coat texture. Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming is committed to taking every precaution to keep your pet safe while in our care.

Royal Pet Double-Coated Dog Waiver

Double-coated dogs have two layers of fur. We advise against shaving any breeds that have a double coat.

Examples of Double-Coated Breeds (include, but not limited to):

  • Pomeranians
  • Chows
  • Corgis
  • Border Collies
  • Golden Retrievers.
  • Labrador Retrievers
  • Siberian Huskies
  • Cavalier King Charles
  • German Shepherds
  • Australian Sheperds.
  • Great Pyrenees
  • Newfoundlands

Reasons you should NOT shave double-coated dogs:

• It creates possible skin problems. Your dog could develop razor burn, hot spots, and/or irritated skin due to excessive licking and scratching following their groom.

• It does not make dogs shed less. Double-coated dogs shed their undercoat twice a year and the rest of the shedding is normal hair turn over, seen in all animals with hair, including ourselves. Shaving can seem to help shedding but it is a temporary fix, and the dog still sheds they are just shorter hairs.

• It damages the condition of the topcoat and the cycle of the hair, making the shedding times unpredictable and in some cases, never ending. The topcoat can take up to two years to fully grow back. Severe cases lead to alopecia, which means that the topcoat may not grow back to normal length or it may not grow back at all in some spots, causing patches. This can also require that you continue shaving your dog for the rest of its life.

• It alters their metabolism. The undercoat provides warmth in the winter and cools them in the summer. If your dog has a well groomed coat, with no dead/loose undercoat, the coat keeps your dog warm in the winter by providing insulation and keeps the dog’s skin dry. In the summer, it provides a sort of air conditioning system. Removing loose undercoat allows air to get to the skin making them much cooler, while keeping the top.

• Your dog becomes susceptible to sunburn and skin cancer. Shaved skin is exposed to sun rays and too much sun exposure can be very harmful. Precautions such as clothing and/or sunscreen must be taken to protect their skin. If your dog isn’t shaved or severely matted, his/her coat will regulate temperature.

 -

It is important to weigh all relevant factors before shaving a double-coated dog. Knowing the above conditions may occur, I hereby release Royal Pet Bakery and Grooming  and its employees from any injury, loss, liability, claims and/or otherwise which may arise directly or indirectly as a result of the above mentioned process and any and all medical problems and/or other conditions that may be uncovered and/or occur during and/or as a result of the process.

Royal Pet Matting Acknowledgement

Pet(s) with matted coats need extra attention during grooming. Mats left in a pet’s coat will grow tighter, strangle the pet’s skin, or tear it open. The skin under matted fur is usually red, swollen, cracked, and dangerous to the groom. Matted coats and excessive undercoats cause various health problems for your pet. Matted fur does not allow for air circulation to the skin, which can cause hot spots, bacteria, and fungus infections. Fleas, ticks, and other parasites may lurk in the coat causing further skin infections. Matted fur also pulls and binds, which can cause pain to your pet. We will recommend shaving the local or the entire pet. We likely not be able to provide you with the the hairstyle that you would like if your dog is severely matted.

Risks: It can be very difficult to remove and may require the pet to be shaved. When necessary, removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin allowing mold, fungus, or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed before the grooming process. Torn skin from mats can also harbor maggots. As the pet’s owner you agree that the Store shall not be held liable for any cuts/nicks/grazes or any post groom effects caused while removing a matted/neglected coat.

After removing mats: After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, hot spots, hematomas, skin chewing, sunburn, or self-inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive external rubbing, scratching, and head shaking and failure of the hair to regrow. Extreme mats on ears can cause hematomas from the lack of blood flow. Royal Pet bakery and Grooming will be held harmless from any accident or issue involving Services provided. I understand that the hair length may have to be shorter than desired to remove all matting and for the safety and comfort of the animal.

I have read and agree to the Royal Pet Bakery and a Grooming matting acknowledgment waiver.
